About Barbara

Barbara has been a proud Huntington Beach resident for more than 40 years. During that time, she’s raised a daughter and become a highly respected business and community leader. Serving for the last four years on the Huntington Beach City Council, currently serving as Mayor, and serving four years before that on the City’s Planning Commission, Barbara is dedicated to keeping our City a great place to live, work and play.

Over the years, Barbara has been actively involved in numerous Huntington Beach organizations, including the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce (who honored Barbara as Business Woman of the Year), Huntington Beach Visitors/Marketing Bureau, Huntington Beach Council on Aging and the Huntington Harbour Republican Women’s Club. She is also very involved in the Orange County Association of Realtors, serving as President in 2005. As a member of the Huntington Beach City Council, Barbara also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), as well as a Board Member for the Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD).

Barbara is running for re-election to the Huntington Beach City Council in order to continue to protect Huntington Beach’s quality of life while promoting business and job growth throughout our City and maintaining our residential neighborhood integrity. Keeping our neighborhoods safe is a top priority, and Barbara will continue working with our Police Department to make sure our citizens are protected.

As your Mayor this year and after serving four years on the City Council, Barbara understands the impact that excessive fees, taxes and bureaucratic red tape can have on residents and small businesses and their employees, and will continue to seek ways to make Huntington Beach a more business friendly City, while operating in a fiscally responsible manner.
