Southwest Gutter offers two versions of heat tape/cable to best match your needs. The first option is a traditional constant temperature heat tape that are sold in predetermined lengths. This tape runs fully on or off without regard to temperatures achieved and maintained on the roofline. Southwest Gutter also offers an industry leading, self-regulating cable that will automatically adjust the energy draw as targeted temperatures are maintained at the cable, improving the energy efficiency of your system. This cable is cut to length onsite, often eliminating the possibility of any redundant cable, which is costly at the time of installation and as the heat tape/cable is energized through the years of use.
Either product, constant heat tape or the self-regulating cable can also be installed in a serpentine pattern on your roof and in the open gutters and downspouts. This more robust, self-regulating cable, when paired with Gutter Helmet is a powerful combination known as Helmet Heat. The Helmet Heat system works in conjunction with the Gutter Helmet to keep pine needles, leaves and debris out in the spring, summer, and fall while mitigating ice dam problems in the winter months. These products combine to provide year round protection and is truly the PERMANENT solution.
The Heat cable can be installed with our Gutter Helmet gutter protection system, which creates our exclusive Helmet Heat Technology. We can also install new, heavy-duty gutters for a complete gutter upgrade. No matter which products you choose, you can rest assured that the installation will be performed correctly by a fully trained team member. We have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, so we will always go to great lengths to ensure your complete satisfaction with our products and services.
There are several benefits of choosing the Helmet Heat system for your home, including:
Reduction of icicle formation on gutters and ice at the roofs edge
Cables are hidden underneath the Gutter Helmet preventing unsightly appearance of typical cables
Hidden cables are protected from the elements, including roof rakes and animals who love to nibble on the warm cables
Prevention of ice forming inside gutters and downspouts, increasing the life of your gutter system
Elimination of snowy buildup on gutters lessening the weight burden on your gutters
