Non-Skilled Care

Nina’s Health Care Fairfax wants its services to be easily accessible for clients and their families. Coordinating home health care services can often be difficult at the start, especially for clients who are still new to the home health care concept. As much as possible, we will thoroughly explain to you and your family how our services are provided, how often we visit you at home, and that we closely coordinate with your physician in providing non-skilled services including but not limited to:

Home Health Aide

Home Health Aides (HHAs) are a necessary part in allowing you to recover and heal quickly, while at the same time keeping your surroundings in good order. Nina’s Health Care Fairfax is proud to have dedicated Home Health Aides in our team to provide care and support for both you and your family in times of compromised health. While Home Health Aides generally can take over the household chores as you or your loved one continue to recuperate, they can also provide personal assistance if needed. Under the direction of a case manager, our home health aides can provide assistance with:

  • Bathing and Other Personal Hygiene (if needed)
  • Personal Care or Bed-Side Care (if needed)
  • Live-In Home Care
  • Health Monitoring and Documentation
    Mobility or Ambulation Support
  • Non-Medical Transportation
  • Grocery Shopping
  • Light Meal Preparation (specified by client’s recommended diet)
  • Homemaking
  • Light Housekeeping
  • Laundry Services
  • Prescription Medication Pickup
  • Family Care Conferences
  • Other Activities of Daily Living

Our home health aide program is designed to provide assisted living to clients by letting them concentrate on healing while the HHAs make sure the home environment is kept safe, clean, and comfortable.

Companionship

The majority of older adults prefer to remain in their own homes as they grow older. With assistance from family caregivers and/or private duty nursing and nurse aids, they need never to move to a senior living community. This is a positive choice for those who wish to remain close to their history, their possessions and their family memories. Regardless, everyone needs companionship to avoid feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Living alone is a reality for many seniors. For some, the isolation can lead to depression and increase the risk of dementia. Nina’s Health Care Fairfax Companion care provides seniors with a friend and companion to share activities, conversation, recreation, and other daily activities. Our Companion care can also provide a range of other duties and responsibilities that make the lives of seniors easier, including:

  1. Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including grooming, dressing/undressing, toileting, bathing, and eating
  2. Assistance with transportation to shopping, doctor’s appointments, restaurants, and other activities
  3. Light house-keeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, etc.
  4. Meal preparation and cooking with the nutritional needs of the senior in mind
  5. Medication management or assisting with administering and refilling prescriptions
  6. Memory care for those with Alzheimer’s/Dementia
  7. Sharing range of recreational activities including walks, swimming, or your choice of activity.
  8. Assistance when there is a crisis
  9. Counseling and support
  10. Pet care including feeding, walking, clean up and Vet visits
  11. Act as a liaison with families who live away
  12. Organizational help
