Memory Care
Memory care can be a difficult road for families to navigate, but with the proper supports in place, it does not have to be. Memory symptoms are generally the beginning of progressive stages of cognitive decline, to include more moderate and advanced forms of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. How severe the decline becomes depends on the individual and if therapies are available for your loved one’s specific condition. We understand that memory care is a whole family need, not just a client need, and we can help through all of its stages. The need for memory, dementia, or Alzheimer’s care does not mean that you and your loved one are no longer able to have an independent life or engage with the joys of life and family. It just means that the approach must be different, and family members and all of the support team must have a good understanding of what your loved one’s needs are and how best to meet them. As part of your overall care team, we can provide knowledgeable regular hourly care for memory clients and respite care for family caregivers. We can also make recommendations for small modifications to the home to prevent wandering and other unsafe events. Questions? Give us a call to learn more. We are happy to help.
